Ray Allen was born in Merced, California on July 20, 1975. He grew up as a very athletic kid, with a great talent for basketball.

After playing basketball at Hillcrest high school in Dalzell, South Carolina, he enrolled at the University of Connecticut in 1993 to play college basketball.

In 1996, after his junior year in college, Ray Allen declared for the NBA draft and was picked in the first round at number 5 by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

However, he was traded on draft day to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Stephon Marbury.

Ray Allen played for the Bucks for seven years, making it to the All-Star Game three times.

From the Buck, Ray was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics where he played for 5 years, making 4 All-Star appearances.
